Welcome to the GES School Counseling Program!
I am thrilled to be a part of the GES family this year as the school counselor. I am coming from Goochland Middle School, where I was teaching Social Studies for 7 years and was the 8th grade counselor during the 2014-2015 school year.
I believe that school counselors play a vital role in our schools. I am here to support all students, faculty & staff, and families. I focus on the academic, career, social, and personal well-being of each student, helping them to reach their full potential.
Please feel free to email me if you have any questions or concerns. Also take a look at my Schoology blog for updates throughout the year about the School Counseling program at GES.

Vision Students will acquire the academic, career and personal/social skills to maximize their individual potential. Students will pursue excellence and demonstrate creativity, courage, honor, and optimism in their local and global communities.
Mission The mission of Goochland County school counselors is to provide a comprehensive and data-driven program to meet the academic, personal/social and college/career objectives of all students. The Goochland County School Counseling Program is preventative, sequential and based on student growth and developmental needs. School counselors advocate on behalf of students, acknowledge every student’s individual and cultural uniqueness, and empower all students to be life-long learners and contributing members of society. In partnership with students, staff, parents and community members, school counselors facilitate a positive, supportive and culturally-sensitive program that ensures a school community that is a safe, healthy and nurturing environment for all.
Beliefs: – We believe school counselors can make a difference. – We believe that success is not defined in one way. – We believe that every child has the potential for success. – We believe that the actions of stakeholders can help students unlock their potential.
