Otters of the Month! From our SRO, to our custodial supervisor, to our amazing teachers and staff, you all make GES a special place.
Thank you for your commitment, care, and positivity. Your impact is felt in every corner of GES-and we’re so grateful for all that you do!
As we head into Thanksgiving break, we’re filled with gratitude for our Goochland River Otters' incredible kindness and generosity. Together, we collected well over 11,000 school supplies for Greenlee Primary School in western North Carolina! Students sorted and tallied donations, colored thoughtful cards for elderly community members, and brainstormed ways to spread kindness.
As our school song reminds us:
“We show kindness to others,
And to our own selves too.
Look out for each other —
And we do our very best!”
Thank you, Goochland families, students, and staff, for making a difference. Have a happy and restful Thanksgiving break! 🦦❤️
Thank you, St. Matthew's United Methodist Church for facilitating a turkey hunt, including prizes, for the GES staff! We love and appreciate our partnership!

📣 Today, Goochland Elementary proudly celebrates Veterans Day! 🇺🇸 We are honored to welcome local veterans into our classrooms, where they’re sharing stories of service and reading with our students.
Our fifth-grade students are learning about the powerful symbolism of the White Table—a tribute to those who made the ultimate sacrifice and never returned home. This meaningful display is set up in the performance area on stage for all to observe and reflect upon.
To show our gratitude, each student will also receive an American flag to take home. Thank you to our veterans for your courage, dedication, and service!
