Every day in school matters! Starting in preschool and kindergarten, regular attendance helps children build the foundation they need to succeed in school—and in life. When students are in class on time and ready to learn, they are more likely to stay on track with reading, math, and other important skills.
Did you know?
Missing just 2 days a month (about 10% of the school year) can make it harder for children to learn.
Even a few absences every couple of weeks can cause students to fall behind.
Tardiness also adds up—being late can affect not just your child’s learning, but the whole class.
Good attendance also helps children feel connected to their teachers, classmates, and school community. It builds confidence and a sense of responsibility that will carry into high school, college, and beyond.
What Families Can Do
Establish consistent bedtimes and morning routines.
Prepare clothes and backpacks the night before.
Schedule medical and family trips outside of school time when possible.
Reach out to teachers, counselors, or other families if your child feels anxious about school.
Have a backup plan for transportation in case of emergencies.
Let’s work together to ensure our students are present, engaged, and ready to learn—because showing up every day makes a difference!
