At GES, we believe kindness matters—and it can start anywhere! From home to school to the broader community, small acts of kindness can have a big impact.
Here are some easy ways for students and families to show kindness every day:
Kindness at Home
Help out a family member: Offer to set the table, fold laundry, or help with chores without being asked.
Write a note or draw a picture: Share a “thinking of you” message with a sibling, parent, or grandparent.
Say something kind: Compliment a family member or thank them for something they do.
Share and take turns: Practice patience and generosity with toys, games, or snacks.
Kindness at School
Be a friend: Invite someone new to join in a game or activity.
Encourage and support classmates: Celebrate others’ successes and offer help when someone is struggling.
Kind words in action: Say “please,” “thank you,” and “great job” often.
Random acts of kindness: Leave a positive note in a classmate’s desk or share a kind gesture during transitions.
Kindness in the Community
Volunteer your time: Help at a local food bank, animal shelter, or community event.
Show appreciation: Make cards or drawings for veterans, first responders, or community helpers.
Pick up litter: Help keep your neighborhood or local park clean.
Donate items: Collect gently used books, clothing, or school supplies for those in need.
Tips for Making Kindness a Habit
Encourage students to complete at least one act of kindness daily.
Celebrate acts of kindness at home or in the classroom to reinforce positive behavior.
Lead by example—children often mirror the kind actions they see in adults.
